Last year, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce represented Istanbul with the 300-square-meter Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion at MIPIM 2015, one of the biggest real estate exhibitions in the world with more than 20,000 real estate professionals from 90 countries organized each year in Cannes, France. At this year's exhibition, which will take place between March 15 and March 18, the chamber has increased the area of the pavilion to 685 square meters, and will host leading Turkish companies from the real estate and construction sectors who will be attending the exhibition.
The Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion will be located at one of the most prestigious areas at the MIPIM this year, as the pavilion has been set up right between the tents representing two of the most important metropolises in the world, Paris and London, and located on the side of the fair facing the coast.
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman İbrahim Çağlar said the MIPIM Exhibition has strategic significance in promoting and introducing real estate and construction projects in Istanbul. According to Çağlar, the chamber aims to improve and develop the promotion of Turkey and Istanbul each year at the MIPIM exhibition. This year, urban transformation projects undertaken by construction firms and mega infrastructure projects planned for Istanbul by the government will be introduced to foreign investors from at least 89 different countries.
Emlak Konut GYO, the affiliate of the Housing Development Administration of Turkey, is one of the main supporters of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce at the exhibition, according to Çağlar. "With our new and improved location this year, we aim to attract more than 20,000 real estate employees and investors to our stand at the Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion. We would like to invite all the participants to enjoy Turkish coffee and closely observe Turkish hospitality at our Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion," Çağlar added.
The Live Mockup of Istanbul, which was introduced for the first time last year, will also take its place at the exhibition. The 96-square-meter mockup will present four seasons of Istanbul. The video mapping presentation of the mockup was completely redesigned, and the Live Mockup of Istanbul - the largest model of Istanbul that has been built to date - will displayed around the clock to visitors with sound and visual effects.
Along with Istanbul's mockup, there will be project mockups at the Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion including one for the third Istanbul airport, which will be the biggest airport in the world once it is completed, and another section mockup of the Eurasia Tunnel, which is to connect Asian and Europe under the seabed with a highway.
Moreover, two more mockups will be presented at the pavilion. One of the most modern exhibition centers of Eurasia, which will be constructed by the Istanbul World Trade Center with an investment of $500 million, and another of Teknopark Istanbul, a candidate to become one of the three-largest techno parks in Europe.
Meetings will be held at the Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion and Turkey Pavilion at the MIPIM exhibition. Separate areas have been reserved for meetings, thus enabling companies to hold private and quiet meetings away from the noise of the ongoing exhibition. Furthermore, the advantages Istanbul has to offer will be introduced and explained to foreign investors at the Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion.
Last year, 700 representatives from multiple sectors attended the MIPIM Exhibition on behalf of Turkey, which was the seventh country with the highest number of participants at the exhibition.
