by Daily Sabah

by Daily Sabah Mar 19, 2016 12:00 am
At the Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion at MIPIM 2016 - one of the biggest real estate exhibitions in the world, with more than 20,000 real estate professionals from 90 countries, organized each year in Cannes, France between March 15 and March 18 - the chamber doubled the area of the pavilion to 685 square meters and hosted leading Turkish companies from the real estate and construction sectors at the exhibition.

The Istanbul Real Estate Promotion Pavilion was located in one of the most prestigious areas of MIPIM this year, between tents representing two of the most important cities in the world, Paris and London, and located on the side of the fair facing the coast.

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman (ITO) İbrahim Çağlar said the MIPIM Exhibition has strategic significance in promoting and introducing real estate and construction projects in Istanbul. According to Çağlar, each year the chamber aims to improve and develop the promotion of Turkey and Istanbul at the MIPIM exhibition. This year, urban transformation projects undertaken by construction firms and mega infrastructure projects planned for Istanbul by the government were introduced to foreign investors from at least 89 different countries.

To emphasize the expected value created by the fair, Çağlar said when ongoing projects in Istanbul are completed - including the third Istanbul airport, the third Bosporus bridge, the Eurasia Tunnel and the Gulf Transition Bridge, each the first of their kind in the world - Turkey will have made significant advances in its engineering and construction capabilities. He added this knowledge could be sold to any country in the world. "We can conduct any international projects with the engineering skills we have gained, especially over the past five years." Çağlar said.

Esas Gayrimenkul CEO Kazım Köseoğlu shared details about the real estate construction company's Adana Esas 01 Burda and Balıkesir Esas 10 Burda projects, which it plans to open in 2018.

Esas Gayrimenkul participated in the MIPIM real estate fair, which was held for the 27th time in Cannes this year. Stressing that MIPIM is one of the most important fairs for the real estate sector, Köseoğlu said that Adana Esas 01 Burda, which will be built on a 40,000-square-meter area, would be an attraction center in Adana with 60,000-square-meters of rental space and able to accommodate 2,500 cars.

The Balıkesir Esas 10 Burda project, which will be built on a 34,000-square meter area in the Adon district, will change the façade of the city with 42,000-square-meters of rental space and be able to hold 1,800 cars. Köseoğlu also touched on the company's projects abroad, saying that they have launched six shopping malls and seven office buildings in the U.K., as well as one hotel and two office buildings in Manhattan. He said, "We unabatedly continue work to achieve our targets."
