The MIPIM real estate exhibition, conference and networking event, which brings together the most influential investors in the real estate sector in Cannes, France, has officially kicked off.
The fair opened its gates on Tuesday with Environment and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki, Prime Ministry Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) President Mehmet Ergün Turan and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) President İbrahim Çağlar holding a ribbon cutting ceremony of the Istanbul Real Estate Pavilion, which has been set up by the ICOC with the theme of "Istanbul: Two Continents, One City," in order to promote the city's megaprojects.
The ICOC has positioned the Istanbul Pavilion as a large bilateral meeting area, and it is here that the MIPIM's top 100 international investors will meet with their potential Turkish partners. A total of 23,000 visitors are participating in the fair, which will run until March 17, and they will sit round the table with more than 800 professionals that will come to the fair from Istanbul.
Today, on the second day of the fair, the ICOC will bring 100 investors together with Turkish investors at a meeting to be attended by Environment and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki.
ICOC President Çağlar stated that every inch of the 685-square meter wide Istanbul Pavilion has been planned as a meeting place for international investors and Turkish entrepreneurs.
"We have carried the image of Istanbul to the top with the Istanbul Real Estate Pavilion for two years. Our preparations have been completed in order to turn this image, which we have forged into the minds of the regular investors of MIPIM, into new business contracts this year," Çağlar said. "Thus, we expect our businessmen to sign many important contracts," he added.
