Galatasaray’s technical director Hagi has now transferred Juan Emmanuel Culio from Romania’s Cluj club. From the age of 13 to 19, the 27-year-old Argentinean used to put up walls for 60 Euros a week. He was discovered on the street when he was 19. Culio drew attention with his performance in Champion League games played with Cluj.
Hagi is continuing to secure transfers during the mid-season at full speed and has now brought on a personal favorite, Culio from Cluj. Sporting Director Adnan Sezgin secured the deal when Cluj agreed to go down to a two million Euro transfer fee. Culio will earn 250,000 Euros for the remainder of the season and has signed on for three and a half years with the lions. Culio will earn 600,000 Euros next season, and 700,000 the season after. In addition, this season Culio will be paid 8,000 Euros every game and 10,000 Euros for every game in the seasons that follow.
Culio arrived to Istanbul yesterday, underwent a medical check-up and then joined the team in the evening at the training camp in Antalya. In an announcement regarding the transfer, Culio states; "Everything happened so quickly. My manager said, 'We are going to Turkey.' I accepted the offer immediately. I will respond to Hagi's trust in me with my football playing."
