Türkiye's national football team lost 4-1 to Italy in the second match of a hard-fought UEFA Nations League A Group 1 fixture played in rainy conditions in northwestern Bursa province.
The "Bizim Çoçuklar" ("Our Boys"), led by Real Madrid star Arda Güler, tried hard to meet the backlog in the second half, but the game at Bursa's Yüzüncü Yıl Atatürk Stadium ended in favor of the guests.
Barış Alper Yılmaz was the only scorer on the Turkish side, with the goal in the 47th minute.
For Italy, Alessandro Bastoni (9), Davide Frattesi (22), Michael Kayode (27), and Francesco Pio Esposito (50) found the net.
Having lost 1-0 to France in their opening match, Vincenzo Montella's team remains without points in the group following the match with the Azzurri.
Italy, meanwhile, secured their first 3 points in the group, having previously lost 2-0 to Belgium.
Türkiye will play its next match against Belgium away on Oct. 2.
