Syrian opposition receives positive response from UN

Syria's moderate opposition has received 'positive response' from the UN envoy at the Geneva talks on Monday.

According to reports, the Syrian opposition has received reassurances from international backers on humanitarian relief, lifting of sieges and end of attacks on civilians.

The UN special envoy for Syria faced an uphill task in Geneva on Monday to get talks to end the brutal civil war off the ground, as the opposition hesitated to join negotiations with the regime.
