Apple released its newest operating system update, iOS 9.3 on Monday alongside many other revolutionary devices such as the iPhone SE and new iPad Pro at its spring launch event in California.
First unveiled in January, iOS 9.3 offers many improvements over the previous version, iOS 9.2.1.
iOS 9.3, which is now available to download, introduces new features to Health, Wallet, CarPlay, Notes and Settings as well as Night Shift mode.
Night Shift is a new mode that is designed to counteract the negative effects of exposure to bright blue light, which mostly happens right before bed and hinders 'a good night's sleep.'
With the mode, your iOS device's clock and geolocation determine sunset and sunrise hours in your location to later shift the colors in your display automatically. So, for example, the backlight in your device's display will shift towards warmer colors, making it easier on your eyes and in the morning it will return to its normal settings.
Alongside Night Shift, Apple also introduced more privacy and security for its Notes app. Notes can now be protected with a password and unlocked using Touch ID.
On the education front, Apple also signaled multi-user support for iOS, which could allow students with iPads to share the devices easily by providing access to their classmates' apps, iBooks and documents.
The new update also allows users to further personalize the "For You" section, with a wider range of interests, suggestions, and trending topics.
Apple Health can now also be integrated into the Apple Watch, alongside a new slider menu for categories like Sleep, Workouts and Weight.
CarPlay is also got minor tweaks like song suggestions for music, and a Nearby feature that lets users find gas stations, parking lots, restaurants, coffee shops and such much more easily.
The News app also received a "track" stories feature—a move that will surely please readers and publishers.
Other improvements include new 3D Touch shortcuts for Weather, Settings, iTunes, Stocks, and App Store.
