The World Tourism Forum, which took place from Feb. 16-18 at the Istanbul Congress Center, hosted hundreds of guests from over 20 countries. The tourism industry's best were settled at the World Tourism Awards ceremony on the last night of the forum, which was followed by around 10,000 people.
There were awards in 35 categories: Qatar Airways won best airline, Hertz won best car rental company, Çırağan Palace Kempinski won best luxury hotel, and Pegasus won best affordable airline.
Furthermore, Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Lounges won best recreational room, Güral Premier Tekirova Hotel won best resort hotel, while Perdue Boutique Hotel won best boutique hotel.
At the same time, a plaque of appreciation was presented to the Turkuvaz Media Group for its contribution to the promotion of the country's tourism. Corporate Communications Manager Fecir Alptekin accepted the plaque on behalf of the group.
