A brand new public beach has opened on the coast of Lake Van, Turkey's biggest lake, with a ceremony on Saturday. Van's Edremit Municipality worked nonstop for two months to prepare the beach for locals and tourists.
The old school building near the beach has been transformed into a social facility for beachgoers as well.
The new public beach now features a café, a recreation area and special areas reserved for women and children.
Moreover, the beach will have a full-time lifeguard on duty as well as watersports services where the beachgoers can rent canoes.
