Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu personally placed former Hürriyet daily chief columnist Oktay Ekşi’s badge as he has now become a new member of the main opposition party.
Wearing the party badge, placed on his lapel by Kılıçdaroğlu, Ekşi states, "Membership of the Republican People's Party is the most substantial and concrete expression of the beliefs I have upheld for years and the services I have provided for my readers as a journalist. In my eyes, becoming a member of the Republican People's Party is one of the most significant honors a citizen of this nation can uphold."
