Following the military air operation staged along the Iraqi border in Uludere, which led to the deaths of 35 villagers, the Şırnak Governorship crisis table established an administrative inquiry into the incident. As part of the ongoing investigation, Şırnak Governor Vahdettin Özkan applied to the Ministry of the Interior, to request that the Gülyazı Vice-Regiment Commander Gendarmerie Colonel Hüseyin Onur Güney be dismissed from his position in the Gülyazı Village located in Şırnak's Uludere County. According to the information obtained, upon the request, Colonel Güney was dismissed on Friday.
