The PKK terrorist organization has abducted five young members of Barzani’s extended family in Şemdinli, three of which were women in order to include them in their mountain wing. Meanwhile, Barzani has brought on sanctions for smuggling.

Massoud Barzani's aides tried to mediate the release of Barzani's relatives, however Kandil refused. In response, Barzani has caught off the PKK's smuggling activities.

High tension between PKK and Barzani...

According to claims, last month the terrorist organization abducted five young members, three women and two men, from Barzani's family that live in Şemdinli. Barzani was immediately informed of the abduction by those close to him. Mediators were assigned to meet the terrorist organization's leader in order to request their immediate release. The PKK mountain wing strongly refused the request and supposedly even asked, "Who do you think you are?" According to other allegations, the PKK opened fire in response to the mediators' insistence of those kidnapped to be released.

The incident has distanced broken ties between the organization and the Regional Kurdish administration. According to allegations, after the PKK refused to release the young members of Barzani's family, the Barzani administration responded by shutting off the PKK's smuggling route. Supposedly, the illegal goods that the PKK smuggles into Turkey from Northern Iraq have been stopped by Peshmergas from crossing the border.

Barzani's obstruction of the terrorist's smuggling activities has put a number of the PKK's wing leaders at unease, resulting in divisions within the organization. The halting of the PKK's source of funds due to the abduction of the five young members of Barzani's family has also been relayed in transmitter dialogue with the question asked is it worth all of this harm for three to five people?

ONE ESCAPES TAKES REFUGE WITH THE POLICE

One of the two men abducted has since escaped and has taken shelter with the police. No news has been received from the other four kidnapped. A similar abduction took place two months ago in Northern Iraq. Then, the terrorist organization kidnapped three other youth. One was killed and the other two were released.
