Following an announcement released by the PKK that eight female members had lost their lives in Kandil due to an avalanche, Turkish intelligence units began investigating under the suspicion the women’s deaths were actually due to internal executions.

Intelligence units are looking into the prosecution files and security records for the eight female PKK members claimed to have been killed in an avalanche, their remains having yet to surface. The missing PKK women are: Zeynep Ulaş, known by the name 'Serdoz' (23), Hülya Gök aka 'Beritan Şafak' (22), Rozerin Bilici aka 'Doza Welat' (24), Someyi Sofizade aka 'Meysa Sipidar' (25), Sümeye Polat who goes by the code name 'Nuda Dilara' (23), Şehdiya Zeyrik who is also known as 'Rengin Şinda' (26), Nuran Bellier aka 'Ruken Çayan' (21) and Fatma Çete whose code name is 'Zemyan Gilidağ' (20).

Tents are being set up for people to offer their condolences in Yüksekova for Nuran Bellier and Hülya Gök and in Erciş's Ekici Village for Rozerin Bilici

In November, 2011, five PKK female members, who were stated to have been killed bygas fumes released from the generator, turned out to have actually been executed by the terrorist organization. Their bodies have yet to be returned to their families.
