Minister of Interior Affairs İdris Naim Şahin and AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Aziz Babuşcu were joined by other party members and Arab youths.
Delivering a speech addressing the youth participants, Minister İdris Naim Şahin, "Any incident that transpires anywhere between Tunisia and Palestine closely affects Turkey. As the Turkish nation, we always undoubtedly support the public. Our perspective of events is not based on benefitting. Every good development in Tunisia pleased us."
Minister Şahin also mentioned the security training efforts ongoing between Turkey and Tunisia. The Police Department and the Gendarmerie have been providing training for Tunisian personnel in both Turkey and in Tunisia including shooting techniques, riot police training, using tear gas and other equipment, crime scene inspection, anti-terrorism security, preventing dangerous ambushes as well as bomb disposal.
The Tunisian young politicians will be in Istanbul for the next five days during which they will discuss developments in the region focusing on the Arab Spring.
