Gay rights activists and demonstrators flocked from a variety of different regions in Beyoğlu in order to meet up in Taksim Square for the 11th Annual Gay Pride March organized by the Istanbul LGBTT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and transvestite) Solidarity Association.
The group chanted slogans and sang songs as they marched along İstiklal Street waving banners that read various rights demands. The gay pride march lasted approximately an hour, coming to a close at the entrance of Galatasaray High School.
