Diyarbakır, a southeastern city which welcomes around 500 civil society organizations annually, will for the first time plan return visits.
About 50 businessmen from Diyarbakır are preparing to make trade visits for the first time to Izmir. The aim is to strengthen integration between the western province of Izmir and the eastern province of Diyarbakır says Hakan Akbal, head of the young southeastern businessmen association.
Each year Diyarbakır welcomes about 500 businessmen, but local tradesmen from this province seldom pay a visit to other regions.
"..We love to welcome them," says Akbal and continues, "but the visits are mostly one-sided. We want to change this." Musa Turhan, head of TÜGIAD (Young Businessmen Association of Turkey) mentions that the organization will set a precedent and that it aims to strengthen the togetherness. He also says that a sister foundation protocol will be signed.
