ANKARA — The chairman of Ayyıldız Group and Job safety Specialist Muharrem Demirbilek informed on Monday that investigations have been completed into Soma mining disaster where 301 lost their lives.
According to Job safety Specialist Demirbilek, the main reason for the disaster was the negligence and undermining of basic security measures.
"Despite the steady increase of temperature for last 10 days in the mine, no measures taken against it," stated Demirbilek. He confirmed that the negligence caused mine disaster.
Five people had been arrested and 25 detained following Turkey's worst mining disaster in the western town of Soma.
The Turkish Parliament will discuss the Soma coal mine tragedy in detail on Tuesday.
