Public transportation fees will be reduced by 50 percent in Istanbul during the feast of the sacrifice holiday (Eid al-Adha), the Istanbul Metropolian Municipality announced on Tuesday.
The reduced prices will be applicable to public buses, trains, metrobus, trams, funiculars and boats.
Since the number of people traveling is expected to increase, additional runs for vehicles --especially in the afternoons-- will be put into service to tackle any kinds of traffic problems.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's subsidiary, ISPARK, which provides car parks throughout the city will offer free services for roadside parks at 500 different points on the first and second day of the 4-days long holiday. The outdoor and roadside car parks will be however subject to fees, the Municipality announced.
