Syrian refugees in Turkey will be granted identity cards to obtain working permit, said Turkish Minister of Labor and Security, Faruk Çelik, on Wednesday.
Until now, obtaining a work permit for Syrian refugees has been a slow and complicated process, with refugees needing a valid passport and a residence permit and employers needing to show that there are no Turkish nationals available for the position.
However, the Turkish government is currently working on regulations to allow Syrians living outside refugee camps to work legally with a permit.
Within the new regulations, Syrian refugees' entry into employment will be realized, at least to a certain point, Çelik said.
