A Turkish noncommissioned officer has been kidnapped, as he crossed the border to Syria from his base in Kilis, a southeastern Turkish province, according to reports.
It is reported that the soldier has been missing since January 1, when the Turkish soldiers were chasing after the smugglers coming from Syria.
The identity of the kidnappers have not yet been confirmed, nor the reason for the kidnapping.
Turkish military and intelligence services have launched an operation to find the missing officer.
