Technical University organizes robotic olympics

Organized by the Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) Control and Automatization Club (OTOKON), the İTÜRO 2015, which is one of the most prestigious robotic events in Turkey, will take place from April 9-11 at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center located on İTÜ's Ayazağa Campus. The ninth edition of İTÜRO 2015 will bring students who work on robotics, academics and the representatives of the robotics industry together.

Academics who undertake projects on robotics and control fields will share their experiences and discuss the latest developments in the sector with the participants through seminars, panel sessions, exhibitions and Q&A sessions. Moreover, the three-day event will host a competition sponsored by Monster Platin, Alfanorm, Autodesk, Mitsubishi Electric, Robotistan and Gilbo, where participants will compete in eight different categories, including Micro Sumo, Line Follower, Fire Extinguisher, The Self-balancing Robot, Labyrinth, Freestyle Category, The Robot that Moves up the Stairs, Scenario: Construction, Color Chooser and Basketball.

Autodesk, one of the main sponsors of İTÜRO 2015, will present a digital design award to competitors who have designed their robots with Autodesk products in 3-D. Monster Abra A5, Roland iModela, VEX Robotik Kiti, Robotistan and Robot Sepeti will also give out awards at the competition.
