Memur-Sen, major union of civil servants in Turkey, asked the government to deliver financial aid for newlywed civil servants.
The union has been holding talks with the government over the past few days for a boost in the wages and improvement of their rights.
Ali Yalçın, the head of Memur-Sen, said they asked the government for a payment of TL 3,900 ($1,398) for civil servants to cover their wedding expenses and they hoped the government would accept their proposal.
