Four civilians, including two children, were killed and four others were injured on Thursday following clashes between Turkish soldiers and PKK terrorists in southeastern Şırnak province's Cizre district. Also, four soldiers were injured during the PKK terrorists' attack.

PKK terrorists have launched an attack on Thursday at the security gate of a garrison command in Cizre. A civilian named Eyüp Ergin was stuck in the crossfire between soldiers and PKK terrorists, when he was on his way home from the Cizre State Hospital where he was working as a health staff. Ergin later died at the hospital.

Another civilian, 28 year-old Mesut Sanrı, was also stuck in the crossfire, while he was trying to fix a failure in the electricity distribution at the area, being appointed from the power company DEDAŞ.

Another victim, 7 year-old Baran Çağlı, was killed during the clashes after a wall collapsed and fell on him.

The last victim was identified as 10 year-old Emin Yanaş.

In a separate incident on Thursday, PKK terrorists stopped vehicles on a highway in eastern Erzincan and asked for the identity of the drivers. But, when one of the cars did not stop, the terrorists fired on it, killing one woman inside it.

Formed in 1978, the PKK terrorist organization had been fighting the Turkish government for an independent state until the early 2000's. The group then shifted its goal to autonomy in predominately Kurdish inhabited regions of Turkey.

The PKK announced on July 11 that the cease-fire which was declared via a message from the PKK's imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan in 2013 has ended.
