A 16-year-old Turkish boy identified only with his initials F.S., was arrested for killing his mother Neriman Soysal, grandmother Hatun Soysal and his sister B.S. in Veghel, a Dutch town some 120 kilometers southeast of Amsterdam, on Tuesday. The bodies of the three women stabbed to death were found in their home. The motive for the murders is not known, but the suspect is in custody and an investigation is underway.
The suspect was living with his family who are originally from Sivas, a central Turkish city. His father had died of carbon monoxide poisoning two years ago while in Turkey.
Veghel Mayor Ina Adema cut short a trip to The Hague after the murder and released a statement expressing her sadness over the incident.
Dutch media quoting neighbors of the family said the suspect "changed" after the death of his father and cut off contact with people.
