Turkish soldier dies from wounds 14 days after PKK’s Dağlıca attack

Turkish Sergeant Melih Garip Ünsal, who was heavily wounded in an attack by PKK terrorists which killed 16 soldiers in near Dağlıca Military Outpost of Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, died from his wounds 14 days after the attack on Monday.
28-year old Ünsal was under treatment in Ankara's Gülhane Military Medicine Academy Hospital (GATA) since the attack.
Ünsal will be interred in Ankara on Monday following a funeral ceremony.
On September 6, two armed vehicles were targeted by terrorists in a landmine attack near Dağlıca, and a relief unit that came to rescue the soldiers was ambushed, inflicting 16 casualties.
Since early July, more than 100 Turkish security forces were killed in attack conducted by PKK, which is recognized by a terrorist organization by the U.S., the E.U. and NATO.
