PKK terrorists kill police officer, wound another in southeast Turkey

PKK terrorist killed a police officer and wounded another on Friday in Yeni Neighborhood of Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province during an operation to close off ditches dug by the YDG-H, the urban youth branch of PKK.
The operation, where the construction vehicles was filling the ditches and many bombs placed underground were detonated, was supported by snipers and armored vehicles.
During the operation, PKK terrorists opened fire on the security forces, killing one officer and wounding another, Şırnak governoreate said in a statement.
A wide-range operation has been launched in the area to arrest the terrorists.
Turkey has been conducting operations against the PKK, an organization listed as terrorist by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, since late July, when a two-and-a-half year lull in the fighting ended.
Since then more than 150 members of the security forces have been killed while, according to the government, more than 2,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
