One Turkish soldier was killed on Saturday in a mine attack by the PKK terrorists in Turkey's southeastern province of Şırnak.
Şırnak governorate said that the killed soldier stepped on a mine in Uludere village, near the border with Iraq.
Separately, five PKK terrorists were killed by Turkish security forces in the east of the country on Friday, according to a Turkish army statement issued on Saturday.
The military said that four PKK terrorists were killed in Turkey's eastern province of Diyarbakır while the other terrorist was killed in Şırnak in ongoing security operations.
Troops destroyed 18 handmade bunkers and an ammunition cache, the statement added.
Turkish forces have been fighting the PKK since a two-and-a-half year cease-fire broke down in late July following the Suruç massacre.
