Two Turkish soldiers killed, 6 wounded in PKK ambush

Two Turkish soldiers were killed and six others were wounded Monday as a handmade explosive laid out by PKK terrorists in the eastern Bitlis province was detonated just as a military vehicle en route to an operation was passing by.

The explosion took place while a military vehicle was moving as part of operation being conducted in the area.

Wounded soldiers were transferred to hospitals in Bitlis and Tatvan.

The air backed operation against terrorists is currently underway in the region.
