A Turkish police officer and one soldier were killed Tuesday in an operation against the terrorist PKK organization in the district of Cizre in Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province.
Two soldiers and a policeman were wounded and transferred to hospital.
The Cizre district, located on the border with Syria, has been the focus of counter-terror operations and military curfews since December 2015.
Earlier on Tuesday, Interior Minister Efkan Ala said that the operations in Cizre are nearing to end.
The PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July 2015.
Since then, more than 260 members of the security forces and thousands of PKK terrorists have been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
