International runners will come together for Turkey's leading ultramarathon, the ‘Lycian Way Ultra Marathon,' on Sept. 24 in Lycia. The six-day marathon will feature six different tracks all of which offer various degrees of difficulty

The historical Lycian Way comes to the forefront as one of the best ultramarathon routes in the world with its stunning historical setting and natural beauty. Runners will tackle 250 kilometers of the 500 kilometers that make up the Lycian Way and runs will be spread out among six-days. The Lycian Way Ultra Marathon (LYUM) is considered one of the most unique marathon destinations in the world with its distinct features and tracks. LYUM offers an unforgettable experience to runners with its high level of difficulty, stunning historical setting and distinct natural beauty.

Prof. Dr. Taner Damcı is the project consultant and race director of the marathon, who has completed numerous ultramarathons around the world. Six different categories, created as part of a concept that has been developed in accordance with the needs of participants, offers everyone to be part of this marathon in an exciting atmosphere.

There will be six different categories in the race, among which everyone, including amateurs or professional runners, can find something suitable for them. The race categories are the ultra-marathon, Discovery 6G, Discovery 4G, Zor1Gun race, corporation races and LYUM 20K. You can visit www.likyayoluultramaratonu.com for more information about the marathon that will start from Fethiye Ölüdeniz to the ancient city of Phaselis.

Ultramarathon (Sept. 24 - Oct. 2)

The ultramarathon will be an uphill struggle for runners with 250 kilometers in six stages, where runners will need to carry all of their needs in their backpacks, to make individual strategic plans and challenge their physical and mental capacities. Runners will bring their own food, which they need to carry in their backpacks during the marathon, while water is provided by the organization at regular intervals.

LYUM 1 Tough Day (Sept. 28 - Oct. 1)

This 102-kilometer-long stage is suitable for those who say, "I don't have much time, but I like challenges" and want to complete the challenging and stunning ultramarathon adventure at Lycia Way in one stage. Runners don't need to carry personal belongings such as sleeping bags or mats while they are running. They only need to carry their own food and obligatory equipment for security in a small backpack.

Discovery 6G (Sept. 24 - Oct. 2)

Runners, who wonder what an ultramarathon is like and where their limits start, can race with ultramarathon runners in the discovery stage. Participants run 120 kilometers for six days in total, 10-15 kilometers each day. Food and drinks will be provided by the organization, which will also help runners to carry other materials too.

Discovery 4G (Sept. 27- Oct. 2)

Runners who want to try ultramarathon in real fields, are offered to have a real ultramarathon experience for four days. While racing against time and trying to keep up amid challenging conditions of the Lycian Way Ultramarathon, runners will have a chance to get familiar with their own limits and with the ultramarathon concept. Participants will run 80 kilometers for four days in total, 10-15 kilometers each day. Food and drinks will be provided by the organization, which will also help runners to carry other stuff too.

Corporate Races (Sept. 27- Oct. 2)

This category for corporations offers a unique opportunity to test team spirit in challenging conditions. Different teams with four people will run for four days in this category. Each team member will run 10-15 kilometers every day on average. Food and drinks will be provided by the organization, which will also help runners to carry other material.

LYUM 20K (Sept. 24-25)

This category is designed for those who want to have the LYUM experience on a special 20-kilometer track, to enjoy the start moment with all other runners and have an amazing weekend in Lycia. Participants will run 20 kilometers on the special track on Sept. 24.
