Veaceslav Filip, the consul-general of Moldova to Istanbul, was detained in his country on charges of bribery in exchange of issuing visas to "citizens of Arab countries," Moldovan media outlets reported.
Filip was detained at the airport in Chisinau upon his return from Turkey late Wednesday.
