Search crews found the bodies of three missing crew members two days after a cargo vessel sank off Istanbul's Black Sea coast coast off Şile.
The vessel, carrying iron ore from Gemlik port in Marmara Sea to Karadeniz Ereğli on the Black Sea coast, had disappeared from radars on Nov. 1 with 11 crew members onboard. The Turkish Navy and local rescue teams combed the site to find the missing sailors and had located the wreckage hours after the sinking.
The search was underway for the other crew members. Ministry of Transportation said in a written statement that ship's captain apparently left the vessel at the Kartal port in Istanbul before the incident and an investigation was underway. Authorities have not yet announced the cause of the incident.
