Health Minister Recep Akdağ described Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) is an urban version of the DAESH terrorist organization. Speaking to Sabah newspaper on Wednesday, Akdağ stated that the government will purge the FETÖ members who infiltrated military medical centers with the purpose of aiding the objectives of the terror organization.
On July 15, a military junta in the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) loyal to FETÖ attempted a coup. Recalling that tanks commandeered by the FETÖ junta ran over ordinary people and jet planes bombed Parliament, Akdağ compared the Gülenist terrorists to DAESH.
"They have the same mindset. They easily accuse anyone of being an apostate. They see themselves as chosen people. They are under some delusion."
