The family of someone who died in the July 15 coup attempt has filed a criminal complaint against U.S. military officers Tuesday accusing them of "aiding and abetting" pro-coup forces at Turkey's İncirlik Air Base.
Zeki Kılınç, father of Muhammet Oğuz Kılınç, came to a courthouse in Antalya Tuesday and confirmed he had filed a criminal complaint. Kılınç, who said his family is in contact with the other families of killed citizens, said, "Betrayers of Turkey are currently living in the United States and protected by certain powers. I believe that other families of martyrs will file criminal complaints as well," said Kılınç adding, "We all know that FETÖ [Gülenist Terror Group] is a terrorist group and we want the necessary steps to be taken."
After it was discovered that Turkish forces at İncirlik were involved in the coup, the authorities cut electricity to the base. The U.S. then launched aircraft from the base using an internal power system until commercial electricity was restored.
