Turkey's Security General Directorate said Wednesday nearly 3,200 security officials suspended for links to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) have returned to their positions.
The directorate said in a statement 2,205 security personnel have been dismissed from their duties for FETO-links.
"The 3,181 security personal who have been suspended before but whose situations were evaluated again were given back their duties," the statement said.
FETÖ was behind the attempted coup which resulted in the deaths of 246 people.
The group led by Pennsylvania based Fetullah Gülen had been carrying out a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
Ankara has stepped up demands for Gülen's extradition from the U.S. since July 15.
