A journalist has recently shared photos of PKK bases and terrorists in Sinjar. According to photos shared by Güngör Yavuzaslan, the managing editor of the Voice of Kirkuk newspaper, the PKK has set up bases and is training terrorists in Sinjar, northern Iraq.
Yavuzaslan said that the PKK has been moving toward the Sinjar region since 2014, amid heavy pressure against it in and around Qandil.
Photos show the alleged gates of PKK terrorist bases with banners of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan hanging. Presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın said in mid-November that Turkey will not allow Sinjar to be the second headquarters of the PKK, as he warned about the terrorist group's recent activities in Iraq and Syria.
In addition, the chief of General Staff of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Cemal Muhammad, had called on the PKK terrorist group in late November to immediately withdraw from northern Iraq's Sinjar region.
