The Interior Ministry said Monday that more than 980 suspected terrorists have been arrested across the country in the last seven days, including 625 suspected members of the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) for involvement in the July 15 coup attempt, 42 of whom were remanded in court custody, according to a statement.
The other terror suspects arrested included 328 alleged PKK terrorists, 41 of which were arrested and 26 suspects with links to Daesh, one of which was remanded.
Police also detained seven other suspects with alleged links to a leftist terrorist group.
According to the ministry's statement, "Four terrorists were killed" during the raids and three were captured while fleeing from police. One other suspect surrendered to security forces.
Furthermore, 21 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and 25 terrorist safe houses were destroyed. Security forces also seized 418 kilograms (943 pounds) of materials used to make explosives, along with 17 grenades and 43 weapons.A staggering 586 drug raids were also conducted across the country amid efforts to curtail terrorist drug rings. Security forces seized various amounts of illegal drugs including cocaine, heroin, marijuana, opiates, hemp root and crystal meth along with more than 780,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes and 24,502 liters (6.472 gallons) of smuggled oil.
