Turkey has recalled its ambassador to France following the French lower house of parliament approval of a bill on Thursday that would make it a criminal offence to deny Armenian allegations spanning back to 1915.
This morning Turkish Ambassador Tahsin Burcuoğlu departed Paris on a Turkish Airlines flight, which will arrive in Ankara this afternoon.
Once he arrives in Ankara, Burcuoğlu will go directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he will share his views and impressions of recent developments.
Burcuoğlu explained his departure as being necessary in order to consult with Ankara.
Following Turkey's decision to recall the ambassador, France also ordered their ambassador to Ankara to return to Paris.
