Turkish defense and electronics giant Aselsan has announced a flurry of deals recently, bringing the total value of contracts in about two weeks to more than $6 billion.
Boosted by a large 2.46 billion euro ($2.75 billion) deal with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) for the procurement of hybrid air defense systems, announced earlier this week, Aselsan has signed contracts worth approximately $6.15 billion since Sept. 23.
A dominant player in the Turkish defense sector and one of the key developers of the "Steel Dome," a multilayered, domestic air defense and command-and-control architecture designed to integrate the nation's sensors, radars, and weapon systems into a unified aerial security network, Aselsan has witnessed a remarkable expansion in recent years.
The Ankara-based contractor is the largest Turkish company by market capitalization with TL 1.71 trillion.
On Wednesday, the firm said in a public statement that it signed a new $195 million contract with SSB for the procurement of radar systems.
The combined value of the agreements recently announced by the company for domestic and international markets has thus reached 5.19 billion euros and $352.9 million, or about $6.15 billion cumulatively.
The company signed several high-budget contracts focused on both domestic and international markets in late September and the first week of October.
The company’s recently reported new business contracts to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), as compiled by private broadcaster CNBC-e, are as follows:
Oct. 7: A contract worth $195 million with SSB for the procurement of radar systems.
Oct. 6: Export contracts worth $157.9 billion were signed for the sale of electronic warfare, electrooptics, seeker heads, reconnaissance and surveillance, communication and weapon systems to end users abroad.
Oct. 5: A contract worth 2.46 billion euros was signed between Aselsan and SSB for the procurement of hybrid air defense systems.
Oct. 2: A sales contract worth 488.5 million euros was signed with a foreign end user for the export of air defense systems.
Oct. 1: Additional contracts worth slightly more than 1 billion euros were signed between the firm and SSB as part of ongoing mass production projects for long-range air defense systems.
Sept. 23: A contract worth 1.23 billion euros was signed between Aselsan and Roketsan for the supply of subcomponents for air defense systems.
Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol said Monday that ongoing serial production efforts were further strengthening the Steel Dome.
Describing Türkiye as one of the few countries capable of developing its own air defense systems, Akyol pledged to continue working "day and night" toward an independent defense industry.
He also recently said that Aselsan was one of the "fastest-growing" companies in the world.
"In Europe, we are in the first or second place," Akyol said.
Aselsan posted a 50% increase in net income in 2025 and over 70% in the first half of this year.
