Turkey's third biggest city İzmir, has been hit by flooding as the heavy rainfall, which started on Monday evening, has gained increasing strength, leading to floods across Çeşme district. Fire crew are responding to the emergency in Ilıca and Alaçatı neighborhoods, which are popular tourist destinations.
Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency "AFAD" in Turkish staff have also been sent to the region.
Dozens of homes, workplaces and vehicles submerged because of the flood while some residents who were stuck in their apartments were saved by boats.
